This is Bryan...

just one of the many children that have a Mitochondrial Disease.

Bryan Loftin is 6 years old and has mitochondrial encephalomyopathy. He battles with seizures, growth and developmental delays and multiple food allergies to name a few of his issues. He loves school and attends a half day Kindergarten class with other children who have special needs. Bryan adores his older brother and younger sister, loves to play outdoors and his favorite food is a hamburger.

Every day, Bryan takes multiple medications for his seizures and also takes his "mito cocktail" which is a mixture of several vitamins, one of the only options to help those affected by mito until hopefully, one day a cure is found. The UMDF is helping to fund research so that hopefully one day better treatments to help all mito patients will be discovered.
